Greta Pratt

Greta Pratt's artistic practice is concerned with the production and consumption of national myth. She first became interested in this topic after viewing a home grown historical pageant in rural South Dakota. This pageant sparked ideas about how history is told and how the telling influences a national identity. Pratt has been photographing reenactments of history, Abraham Lincoln's presenters and iconography surrounding the ideas of liberty and freedom ever since and continues to be fascinated by the myriad ways the story of America is told.
